Atlanta-based band Mattiel have proven time and time again that their catchy brand of indie rock is something special. Arriving alongside the excellent news of a new album, Georgia Gothic (due out Heavenly Recordings on the 18th of March), the group's celebrity-inspired new single 'Jeff Goldblum' lives up to and exceeds our expectations. Guided by vocalist and songwriter Mattiel Brown's playful melodies, thickly driven guitars chug through the verses as impactful beats propel the piece in a danceable direction, before bursting into an uplifting chorus. Whilst the cheeky lyrics aren't entirely dedicated to the star, Brown explains: "Well, my crush on Jeff Goldblum is very real. He inspired the words - but this is more of a dream where a Jeff look-a-like meets me in a bathroom. Nothing beats an 80s Jeff Goldblum. Incredible looks and charm. If anything, I hope if he somehow hears the song, he loves it as much as we do." The accompanying video is appropriately a carefully-curated selection of Goldblum footage in said prime.
